First, your caterpillars arrive with all the nutritious food they need to grown into healthy butterflies.

Kids love BUGS!  At least mine do.  They are fascinated by the little creepers.  And I love how such a simple thing like walking on the sidewalk turns into a science lesson.  Insect Lore is a great summer activity, gift, or just family activity.

Once they become Chrysalides, you attach them to the Butterfly Habitat. After 7-10 days the Painted Lady Butterflies will emerge!

Help children learn all about the “circle of life” with Insect Lore’s butterflies, ladybugs, ants and praying mantis kits.

We received a caterpillar kit which was perfect since we recently spent a lot of time learning about butterflies, their proboscis and what they eat.  So it was perfect timing when we started this new activity.  With the caterpillar kits – kids will get’em, grow’em and set’em free. The Live Butterfly Garden offers children the invaluable lessons of metamorphosis, science, patterns, patience, and life cycle studies. Even at my kiddos ages (6.5 yrs down to 1 year old), they each learned at their own level, and each of them demonstrated curiosity in their own way, which sparked awesome conversations!

We kept our butterflies for a few days, feeding them fruit. Then set them free!

Butterflies often land on little hands and faces before taking flight! A memory my daughters surely cherish.

Give the magic of metamorphosis to a child you love.  All of the insect kits teach kids invaluable lessons about life and nature and are under $20. http://www.insectlore.com/

Disclaimer:  Insect Lore sent me a complimentary habitat and caterpillars in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are my own.  We truly loved the experience!
