The Get Well Gabby Foundation is Hosting Two Events in Phoenixville

By Sarah F.

logo for GWGThe Get Well Gabby Foundation was established in 2012 in memory of Gabby Vogel who lost her fight with a rare form of brain cancer. He family realized the lack of funding and awareness and decided that they would keep fighting in their daughters name. The foundation holds several annual events around Phoenixville, PA where Gabby and her family had lived. They are also holding events in the Southern Delaware area where the family now resides.

The foundation’s current initiatives include a pledge to AI DuPont Hospital for Children/Nemours for $125,000 to fund the new construction of the Oncology Playroom as well as a data sharing tool that will be used for the Oncology department and a program called Gifts from Gabby that funds one family per quarter (up to $1000) that has a child going through a cancer treatment. The foundation also holds an annual book drive. They collect new books and donate them to local children’s hospital Oncology units. As the foundation continues to grow, the Vogels hope to get involved in more research opportunities and be able to help more families that are fighting this battle.
