Salon Review: Belle Vie Salon!! (Downingtown’s Newest Hot Spot!)

I have had thoughts for a long time of highlighting my hair. I had done it for a while and then I didn’t want to keep up with it because of time and cost. But, as I was looking through pictures one day with one of my sisters, I realized how much I really did like my hair highlighted. So, naturally it put the bug in my brain for highlights! But the constant nagging of “do I really want to do this because then I have to keep up with it ALL the time and how much money am I going to be spending ALL the time?” kept running through my head and coming at me from my husband when I would mention it to him as well.

Then, we were contacted by a brand new salon, Belle Vie Salon, located at 137 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335 and Kelly, the owner and I came up with the idea of trying them out. I am so glad I did! I love, love, love them!!! Kelly is beyond nice and was more then willing to go above and beyond to get her name out there. So, I went ahead and made my appointment for my partial foil.

As I was driving there, I had thoughts of where was I going to park since I know they are located in the heart of Downingtown, next to Georgio’s. I was afraid of nothing being available but on-street parking. However, when I arrived, you could park on the street right in front of the salon, but for just $0.50, you could park in the parking lot just across the street and not worry about your car. So, I parked in the parking lot and paid the $0.50 and went in for my appointment.

When I went into Belle Vie Salon, it was very cute! Nice hardwood floors, with a handicap access ramp. Off to the right of the entrance was the waiting area but, I was very nicely greeted and taken to Cara’s station. Cara and I discussed what I had wanted to do with my hair, I said I wanted a partial foil with blonde highlights. But I didn’t want too much yellow or too much white! She went over and mixed the dye according to my “specs”. While I was waiting for Cara to come back, I was asked if I wanted anything to drink (water or coffee).

While she was doing my hair, we had a great conversation, myself and Cara and at times Kelly and the others in the salon as well. I had my 3 year old daughter with me and she was very nicely accommodated as well. Everyone was incredibly polite and welcoming!

I am so happy I went to visit Belle Vie Salon. I am an incredibly picky person when it comes to hair salons and I think I made the right decision by trying this one out. Many things can go wrong when have your hair or colored, and believe me, in the past it has happened to me. I can not wait to visit them again! I was very pleased with what I walked out with…so pleased that I look in the mirror all the time (not to be vain) and love it more and more every time and can’t believe I waited this long to have my hair highlighted again. Prices for all hair services seem to be pretty competitive for men, women and children. Waxing is available as well.
