Truthfully Speaking… with Toddlers!!!
JT has always loved going to the doctor’s office for her own well visits as well as her brother’s. At her 2nd birthday she received a full doctor’s kit complete with pink scrubs! She always plays doctor with her dolls, her brother, me, daddy etc…. chances are if you walk into our house you will be the patient and at some point the doctor. And chances are even higher you will have a broken wing (thank you Big Bird), a belly that hurts, or a broken ankle (thank you Wee Sing in Sillyville).
So the other night JT and I were laying in her bed and I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up (knowing full-well the answer… or so I thought). She said “A doctor. *pause* or a Grocery Lady.” I had to giggle and asked that we just stick with the doctor idea. And her response was “Well once I’m a growed up doctor I can be a grocery lady.” Let’s just say that Daddy and I are hoping that her grocery career last her through high school before she goes to college, and of course medical school!
What’s your child going to be when they grow up? Always fun to ask and see what different answers you get!
