Last year, we had a CATastrophe. Literally. Our senior cat decided to destroy the entire new carpet in our newly finished basement before crossing over the rainbow bridge. Oh sad day, on so many levels! We ripped up the living area carpet and kept the industrial vinyl tiles that were already on the floor for several years. It did NOT look pretty and there was no clean transition from the hallway carpet to the ugly industrial vinyl tiles. It completely changed the mood of the room. Who knew a floor could determine the mood of a room!?!?!?
So while shopping around for replacing the carpet, I discovered this gorgeous luxury vinyl by COREtec Plus called Boardwalk Oak in my friends basement bar area. I knew right away this would be the perfect thing for our finished basement. I asked around for flooring recommendations and several local friends recommended Zac from Superior Custom Flooring. Communications were incredibly speedy and efficient. He came right out to measure my space and teach me about different products. Zac has been working with flooring since he was a teenager! He’s worked every aspect of the gig too, and now he is the proud owner. He knows his stuff, and really enjoys talking about products and has a great eye for what would look good.
I also visited his new showroom in the heart of downtown Downingtown, right behind Amani’s BYOB and a florist. That was the icing on the cake for me. The showroom is unlike any other flooring showroom I’ve been in. It’s not inundated with samples or overwhelming in any way. It’s like stepping into someones apartment! Because Superior has it set up as such, customers are able to see how the workmanship is, as well as to talk about their vision with their designer in order to see samples of what is necessary to see.
After talking to Zac and learning about different products both in my home and at his showroom, we signed on the dotted line. We were very impressed when he told us we were on the schedule for only about 2 weeks out! Sure enough, on May 18th, Zac and his crew showed up for installation day. The four guys were incredibly friendly, kind to my children and crazy pug, and great communicators. They were efficient and I could tell that they worked well together and took pride in their jobs.
I have absolutely nothing but commendations to share with others. There was even a minor snafu with an incorrect measurement, but it was so easily remedied and there was no charge to me so even that is a reason I want to tell others about this company! I am receiving no payment from Superior, this post is my personal PSA for those in need of flooring in our area. And even those not in our area! I learned that they have traveled to the NJ and DE shores for customers as well.
I am just so happy we went with this luxury vinyl plank floor rather than putting down new carpet again. Have you ever read the book “If You Give a Mouse a Muffin”? Well, that’s my story…. “If You Give Melissa a Basement Floor She Loves…” The new floor calls for some new decor and furniture in our play area. I am even converting an old coffee table into a Lego table. I’m on a mission to make the rest of the room look like it deserves this gorgeous floor, ha!!! This basement looks more complete than it even did 2 years ago when the whole thing was carpeted! It’s classy, clean, durable, quiet, and looks DONE. We are so in love with it and so grateful to Superior Custom Flooring for being the kind of company that we all appreciate- reliable, good communicators, friendly, knowledgeable, skilled, and honest!
