The other weekend, my family of 6 met with the local pro photographer, Shannon McMahon. Let me just say this, if you are hiring a stranger to take the pictures of your 4 children ages 14 months to 6.5 years, it’s pretty awesome if she turns out to be a former preschool teacher!
My children warmed up to Shannon IMMEDIATELY. I’m talking giggles, listening ears, eager to pose, and zero pouting! Pretty ah-mazing, right????
Another perk of Shannon’s? She used to work, and was trained by, a well-known “mall photography store”. She knows how to be fast, efficient, and to communicate well with the client. We knew just how she wanted us to pose and where to stand. And all the while, she managed to capture my children’s personalities in their photos.
When I set up the appointment with Shannon, we exchanged emails, then talked on the phone briefly. It was super simple and she chose an outdoor location near my home that was terrific. The process was as quick and painless as the actual photo session!
To me, the most painful part of photos, the wait! The wait to see which child had their tongue out, if my husband opened his eyes, if I was in the middle of the typical “look at the camera” scream. I only had to wait a day. SERIOUSLY, a day, to get the link to our photos. Bam, this pro has skill! And guess what, there weren’t any mid-scream photos— how does that even happen? HA!
