When many of us were younger, we would be lucky if our parents caught even a few shots of our moments of athletic glory (or embarrassment in some cases). Usually it would be on a point and shoot camera (with actual film!) and when the pictures were developed, we’d have physical proof of the moment just before the goal was scored or the homerun was hit or the round-off back handspring landing was stuck.
For kids today, every second of the action can be captured — and not just still shots, but full video by cell phones, digital cameras and camcorders. Now the moments leading up to the winning goal, the goal itself and the ensuing victory dance can be captured in real time.
Every child’s shining moment can be seen again and again and shared with friends and family. And now, these big plays can be shared with the professional soccer world too! Verizon FiOS is kicking off its Play of the Week Contest, offering you a chance to have a video of your child’s great play shown on the big screen at a Philadelphia Union game and posted to the Philadelphia Union’s website!
Between September 1 and November 12, parents can visit verizon.com/fiosplayoftheweek to upload a 30-second video of their child’s star soccer moment — scoring the winning goal, making a game-changing play or celebrating a big win! Each week, Verizon will choose a FiOS Play of the Week video to run on the big screen during halftime at a Philadelphia Union home game. Videos will also be posted to the Philadelphia Union website and its Facebook and Twitter pages, to Verizon FiOS Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association’s (EPYSA) website. Each weekly winner will also receive a Union jersey autographed by Danny Mwanga.
Even better, at the end of the contest, one grand prize winner will be selected out of all the weekly winners to receive a 55” 3D TV!!!
Visit verizon.com/fiosplayoftheweek for more details and keep those cameras rolling!!!
