Last November we introduced you to Little Kieran Dowds, a Downingtown Toddler diagnosed with a rare form of Lukemia. Yesterday, I received an update from Kieran’s mom that I am so,so happy to share with you.
Kieran was discharged from the hospital late yesterday. After a total of 2 months of hospitalizations and 18 weeks of chemotherapy he moves into the last phase of his treatment. The maintenance phase consists of oral medication for 2 years. A piece of cake compared to what he’s been through.
It has been a crazy 8 months. In November it seemed like we would never get to this point. We want to thank our family and friends once again for all the love, support, and prayers. We wouldn’t have gotten through this without you. Plus, there has been a lot of prayers and support from people we have never met. Very humbling. Thank you!! It’s amazing to think that when Kieran enters Kindergarten he will be (at the age of 5!) a cancer survivor.
Kieran is so happy to be home with his brothers and looks forward to spending time at the beach this summer. Wishing everyone a wonderful summer!
