Do you hear that?
That, friends, is the sound of angels singing. Finally, after such a gross Winter, we are due for some awesome Spring-like weather this week. When I go grocery shopping, I will be stocking up on the charcoal so we can GRILL GRILL GRILL! I will continue with side dish posts, and todays will be a GRILLED side dish.
I love grilling food. Grilled chicken and beef come out so tender and so full of taste. And really, anything fresh pairs beautifully with a grilled meal. And in my opinion, nothing tastes better than grilled asparagus.
Sometimes it’s hard to prepare asparagus just right. Cook it too long, it becomes stringy and gross. Cook it too short, and it’s too stalky and tough. Grilling takes the guess work out of how to cook asparagus. And the end result = amazing.
And it’s SO SIMPLE. We love simple.
1 bunch of Asparagus
2 TBS Olive Oil
1 TBS powdered Garlic
Rinse asparagus, and snap off tough ends. Place in a dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder. Place on grill for 3-5 minutes, turning once. Serve and enjoy!
Asparagus is one of the best spring vegetables – and tastes so fresh! So as you break out your grills this week, be sure to pick up some asparagus and throw it over the hot coals!
Enjoy the beautiful weather…
