My husband and I finally had a date night last Wednesday night for the first time in about three years. As we were leaving, it really did feel like when we were dating. We got in the car after saying goodbye to our daughter and off we went to see the best movie we could have seen in a long time! I took advantage of an ad I had seen for 2 FREE tickets to see an an advanced screening of the movie SOUL SURFER at 43KIX Mobile. What a deal we got!!! We had to get there a little earlier than 7:30, the start of the movie, so what we had to wait in line for a while…we were very excited to this movie. When they finally let us in, all we had to go by for tickets was a text message that my husband and a guest were allowed to see the movie and that
was our “foot-in-the-door”.
We approach the theatre entrance, they have a table setup with chapstick, a card with information on it about the movie and bags (totes and backpacks). This was also sponsored by B101, so once we were in our seats, they played a game with us. They asked us questions about the movie and people that answered them correctly got prizes! Pretty cool bonus since none of us had to pay for our tickets!
Onto the movie…this had to be the best movie I have seen in a long time. SOUL SURFER or Bethany Hamilton (played by AnnaSophia Robb) is about a young girl (13 yrs old), who has dreams and aspirations of becoming a pro surfer, gets randomly bitten by a 14 ft Tiger Shark and loses her left arm, loses 60% of her blood and underwent several major sugeries. She learns how to cope with the loss and with great support from family (mother is played by Helen Hunt and father is by Dennis Quaid) and friends (best friend Alanna – played by Lorraine Nicholson and Sara (her youth group leader) played by Carrie Underwood), finds the faith, hope, courage and determination to follow through with her dreams and eventually becomes a pro surfer! If you get a chance, I highly recommend seeing this movie. Be prepared to cry as it can be a tearjerker in both happy and sad times! Here is a clip of the movie for inspiration!
SOUL SURFER is in Theatres now. Check out movie times and/or skip the box office lines and buy movie tickets online at Fandango.
