Soapy Ice

April 2, 2011 By Sarah F. Leave a Comment

So I was watching the show “The Dr’s” yesterday afternoon, which I will often do and a they were throwing a few things around when something caught my attention. I always seem to be in need of an ice pack and my two year old always seems to take them out of the freezer and let them get warm. So I am at a loss when I really need one. This is what the one Dr.’s suggestion was…buy liquid dish soap, pour the whole bottle into a bag (you should double or triple bag it in case it leaks) and put it into the freezer. Once it is frozen you can use it. It will work just like the reusable gel ice packs you buy in the store; reusable, lasts longer than a bag of ice, forms to the body, won’t leak and an added bonus for the kiddos – it can have cool colors for them. If it breaks also, it is not harmful in anyway…it is dish soap! I thought I would share this with you…if you are like me, it wouldn’t go to waste!

I have included the video if you like to watch it!
