I love watching my children grow into little people and see their personalities develop. It’s truly amazing to see them do or say things that just blow you away because it’s obvious they pay attention, rather than something that was necessarily ‘drilled’ into them.
Both my babies had cute little such instances this week. On Monday my mother-in-law watched the kids for me while I was out. When I returned she told me she wasn’t sure what to feed them so she gave them some cheese and apples. I apologized for not letting her know we had fresh peanut butter and jelly. She then said that that was exactly what she was getting ready to make when JT walked in and informed her that she should NOT use that peanut butter, because it had been recalled. My mother-in-law was blown away and tried to use it but JT was quite adamant, thus the cheese and apple lunch. JT was in fact correct that our one jar of PB had been recalled, but the jar my mother-in-law reached for happened to be a fresh, untainted jar. Seriously though, how funny for her to stop her Nana dead in her tracks and not allow her to make her a PB&J lunch for fear of having a recalled batch! We all had to laugh at that.
Yesterday, JT, JW and I went to One Fit Mama class and when we returned I took off JW’s shoes and coat. I put his coat away and when I came back for his shoes he was crawling with one in his hand and had taken them right into our hall closet area and put his shoe right on top of the shoe rack, as if he’s been doing it his whole life. I was so impressed by the little guy that I scooped him right up and told him what a good boy he was. Now if only we could get him to stop sweeping his food on the floor….
