Now that oranges are in season you can find HUGE organic oranges at very inexpensive prices at your local farmers market, Whole Foods Market or even your local grocery store. Some of you might be lucky enough to even pick oranges off your own tree. I seriously miss doing that when I lived in Florida!
This is a great way to get those little ones in the kitchen and it’s also something they can do on their own in the morning while you are making breakfast.
Orange Juice Making
* Organic oranges
* hand juicer
* Napkins or wipes
* Slice an orange in half
* Have your child place the orange face down on the juicer and press down and turn at the same time until the half of orange is fully juiced, then give your child the other half and do the same.
* When you are done with that orange, your child can pour the juice into a cup and enjoy with their morning breakfast.
If you want to kick it up a notch you can add pure 100% carrot juice to the orange juice to make it extra healthy.
* You can also make Lemonade in the summer using the same directions, just add simple syrup using all natural sugar.
1 cup of water
1/3 cup of all natural sugar
Place both ingredients in a pan and heat until all the sugar is dissolved. Put in a container or canning jar, or old squeezable container and add it to the lemon juice and water. Add as much as you need to get the sweetness you desire.
