Hope Lake Lodge at Greek Peak Mountian Resort

My family recently visited Hope Lake Lodge at Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Cortland, NY. We had a GREAT time and will definitely be visiting again.
Hope Lake Lodge was opened in December 2009 and is a year round vacation destination. The Resort is absolutely beautiful with a mix of rustic charm and modern sophistication. Hope Lake Lodge consists of 106 units all with full kitchen and fireplace, two restaurants, spa, fitness center and 41,000 sq. ft. indoor waterpark, providing the ultimate opportunity for vacationing all year round.
The ride to Hope Lake Lodge was an easy ride, North East Extension to Cortland, NY. I think the Resort was about 40 minutes over the PA/NY line. I don’t have a GPS in my car and was able to get there using Mapquest directions. The Resort is only two turns off the highway. I like two turn off the highway destinations.
When we pulled up we were greeted by a curb side valet that loaded up all of our suitcases and the valet took everything to our room. Check in was a breeze and one of the coolest things about the Resort is that they give you a bracelet that serves as your room key and wallet throughout your stay so you don’t have to worry about your wallet getting wet at the water park. To enter your room you simply tap your “wrist wallet bracelet” up to your door lock and gain access. The bracelet also works on the soda/candy machines in the facility – my kid’s loved this the most!

Our room was A-MAZING! We had a beautiful view overlooking the mountains.
I did my homework on the resort and knew we had a full size kitchen in our room so I packed a cooler and took a frozen pizza, snacks, breakfast foods and every fix’n imaginable for lunch time sandwiches. Te room was fully stocked with bake/cookware, plates, utensils… and even a dishwasher. I had every comfort of my kitchen at home. There is also a mini market in the resort off of the lobby that sells breakfast foods, snacks and lots of those ” I forgot to pack the..” items. I found everything in the store to be reasonably priced.
After we were settled into our room we changed into our swim suits and headed to Cascades Indoor Waterpark located on the ground floor of the resort.
The waterpark was just the right size for my 5 year old and almost 3 year old. The waterpark is heated to 84 degrees year round – so we never felt chilly after getting out of the water.
There were multiple slides for my kids to play on. Not just one kiddie slide, like some other water parks have. My almost 3 year old hung out on the kids activity tower pushing buttons, pulling ropes to dump gallons and gallons of water on my husband and I standing on the deck below. Then he would slide down to us and go right back up steps to do it all again.

My husband and I took turns standing poolside getting buckets of water dumped on our head relaxing in the hot tub, surfing the wave pool, playing with the kids and cheering on my daughter as she braved the 3 story tube slide. I am pretty sure she went down it at least 20 times. Squealing with delight every time. I am kinda a nervous nelly when it comes to my kids and waterparks and I felt very comfortable at The Cascades Waterpark. There were ample lifeguards on duty and the waterpark was very clean and well maintained.

Another awesome feature at Greek Peak is the kids activity center. The Activity Center has a Wii Gaming System and toys and play areas for kids of all ages. Activities such as story time, movie night, crafts and more are scheduled daily. (Click here to view the summer activity schedule) Again, I am a nervous nelly so it took me a few minutes to warm up to leaving my ids at the activity center so my husband and I could enjoy a grown up dinner at the resort restaurant, The Acorn Grill. We hung out with the kids in the activity center for a few minutes so we were all comfortable with them staying there and then we were dismissed by our 2 year old. He had trucks, trains and a babysitter to cater to him… that is all he needed. My daughter played Dance, Dance Revolution on Wii and I am sure told the babysitters all about her brother and his naughty ways. She can talk, that kid!
Security is tight at the activity center…I really felt that my kids were safe and in good hands.

And last but not least THE SPA!!!! Simply beautiful! Waterfalls Spa was designed using the principles of Feng Shui, Waterfalls Spa ensures harmony and promotes serenity and positive energy flow throughout the space. Every detail of the spa was carefully thought through from the furniture, fixtures and equipment to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing specifications to the lighting, flooring, colors and textures.

I was at the Resort with my family and spent the majority of our time there at Cascades so I didn’t get a chance to hit the spa, but trust me next visit.. I will!

I could seriously go on and on about my visit to Hope Lake Lodge. I loved it, my kids loved it, my husband loved it… he works a lot and doesn’t really go into “relax” mode that often, but he did while we were at Hope Lake Lodge. Magical mountain air? I don’t know, but whatever it is…we are going back for more! The resort offers a special promotion for repeat guests and lots of specials for new guests too. We think we are going to head back in the winter so we can take the kids skiing. Kids under age 6 ski FREE at Greek Peak with a paying adult! That sounds like a deal to me! Stay tuned!
