10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1…..Woo-hoo! Happy New Year… at noon!
My kid’s are way too little to stay up until midnight to see the ball drop and take part in
the traditional New Year’s Eve activities, so we celebrate at noon on New Year’s Eve.
After breakfast on New Year’s Eve morning we make party hats and gather our noise makers and get ready to ring in the New Year at noon. (We bang pots & pans as noise makers)
We head outside a few minutes before noon and count down just like it was midnight. When the clock strikes noon we hoot, holler and bang our pots and pans. They kid’s love it and look forward to it every year… we only celebrate for a minute or two as to not totally irritate the neighbors. 🙂
