The other night I had a few playgroup friends over for our very first “Coupon Club”. We all clipped as many coupons as we could find from cirrculars, coupons.com, Redplum, and other sites online. We kept what we would use for our own family shopping and brought the remaining unwanted portion of the fliers, along with any unwanted retail, restaurant and local company/restaurant coupons to share with the group. One moms trash is another moms treasure!
We divided the coupons into categories and sorted the coupons by category.
- Baby Stuff
- Health & Beauty
- Paper Goods
- Store Specific ( Giant, Target, Acme, etc.)
- Pet Supplies
- Local Coupons (restaurants, car care, salons, carpet cleaning, etc.)
- Events & Activities (movie theatre, Chuck E. Cheese, Halloween activities, etc)
We each took a few categories and read all of the coupons out loud to the group and the mom who spoke up and claimed the coupon first got the coupon. At the end of the night I ended up with $40 in coupons that I otherwise would have not had. I am really excited to go grocery shopping this week to see how much money I save thanks to my friends from “Coupon Club”.
